Row 4: Don- na Podhradsky, Rhonda Plueger, Mary Taylor, Connie Gustafson, Sandy Huber, Julie Plueger, and Angela Larson. The Huron Girls' Track Team, under coaches Lorene Sorlien and Dean Slostad, had a record-breaking season as the rewarding product of many hours of hard work. This year's team included two seniors, three juniors, thirteen sophomores, and fifteen freshmen. The girls started the season with a win at their home triangular meet against Groton and Aberdeen Roncalli. As competition tightened, the team then lost three dual meets. At the Watoma Relays, the Tigerettes took an eighth place finish, at Mitchell a third, and at Madison a se- cond. They placed fifth at the Huron Invitational. At the ESD Conference Meet, the team placed eighth and won second at the regional. Eleven tracksters qualified for the state meet in Rapid City. Co-captains were Kim Weed and Deb Smith. Qualifiers for the state meet included, Front: Jody Kludt, Yvonne Van Wyhe, Carolyn Burnison, Dawn Sorlien, Deb Smith. Back: Kim Weed, Robin Melstad, Connie Gustafson, Sandy Huber, Julie Plueger, and Paula Konst.
