The Tiger track team capped one of its most successful seasons ever with a 3rd place finish in the State Meet held in Rapid City. Coach Buzz Stevenson led the Tigers to their first ESD cham- pionship in the history of the conference. The tracksters edged Aberdeen by four points with the final outsome undecided until the last event of the meet. The Tigers performed well throughout the entire season, They began with a triangular win and two dual victoriesg they then performed in a strong fashion in the Corn Palace Relays, although no team points were kept. After another dual victory, the team placed fourth out of eighteen teams in the Watoma Relays. The cinder squad then took second at the Watertown Quadrangular and a second at the Madison Invitational before successfully defending the Huron Invitational title.
