swf: As we all know this school is patroled by the Huntington Park Police Department. This is, ofcourse, for our own protection. Unfortunately, this student has found this out the hard way. You can usually find the H.P.P.D. just about anywhere, in dark parking lots and small driveways. Although, if we had more parking space to park students' cars, all this ticket giving would not occur. If by any chance you do get caught for some illegal procedure, follow this simple direction: Be very courteous and say Sir after every two or three words. l'm sure this pointer will be helpful to you. Huntington Park, which is located in the middle of the suburbs can still hear the ocean roar. Former graduate, Manuel Almaguier, who formed the surf club here at HP shows that you can still Hang Ten even though you live in the city. The meeting place for the club is the YMCA which is located just a few blocks away from our campus. The surf club meets every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. to decide where the surfing will be done that following weekend. No equipment is necessary to become a member. All you need is a little balance mixed with courage for the members will give their time and effort to teach newcomers the Ways of the Waves. When no surfing is done, the club takes advantage of our city location by using the concrete for skateboarding which is a substitute for surfing. All in all, the club is well organized and we have learned that surfing is not just for the beach locals. M: El Maggie Perez
