26 6 TOMOR ROW I am in The Halls of Homewood. I am in corridors, Both noisy and silent But you cannot see me. I cannot sign Your Yearbook although I am in every page - For I am the Spirit And Soul of Homewood And the Class of '77, I move with The Tides of Time. I come and go. ln the days to come Slowly, bit by bit You will wrench a piece Of yourself off to leave And as you leave your sorrow So will some of my Spirit Fill in those vacuums And leave with you. Today I hear you Ask your questions Of What? and When? They will be fulfilled. . . j Class of '77 Statistics Believe it or not the Class of 1977 has finally made it. After working 28 hours with numbers, names, and events, I have a few memorable statistics for you. It has been said that Mr. Norton visited Mrs. Dyels homeroom 68,450 times trying to discover how she kept them quiet. Sherri Hays was late to school only 5 days of each week. Out of 7,320 secrets, Pam Chappell kept only one. This was because she forgot what it was. jerry Cham- pion told the referees during football and basketball exactly what he thought of them 302,941 times, and this was at each game. Shari Cottingham did not understand 4,896 jokes and she told 5 of them. johnny Self was crowned Mr. Discov after dancing for 96 hours. The dance contest only lasted 48 hours. Don Traywick busted his lips playing the trombone fi51 times although the public only knew of this once. Bill Reneau and john Morse talked to each other on the CB 877 times without knowing it. Donna Krekelberg wore a dress only 6 times this year. This was the day after each report card. Laura Bass said, Hey Baby, a total of 12,406 times leach dayj. The Senior iAlgebra II class has unanimously voted Ken Crittenden as iMrs. Webberis favorite student. Roy Lee Maguire asked the time 10 times every 5 minutes. Frances Lurie turned red 5,902 times. 4,000 of these were for no excuse. Cassie Sayers sang Did You Boogie With Your Baby?,' 3,961 days con- tinuously. . Miss Bailey called Torri Pruitt 16,028 different names, but Torri'i was not one of them. During Interim McDonald,s sold 9 million hamburgers. 8,999,999 of these kwere to Homewood students. Pam Sumrall has sung 660,439 fsolos. Now she can complete her new book entitled MY LIFE AS FARRAH NEWTON-JOHN. Dale Dellegar called every girl he knew Beautiful 1,682 times. Unfortu- nately, he only knew 4 girls. Ben Baker and Donna Davis were together 80,801 hours at school. This was only first semester. Chuck Yow looked forward to Miss Bailey's first period class only once. This was the day of their Christmas party. 16,000 girls have confirmed that Gary Begley is good- looking. Dartland Dunbar decided 920 times that she wanted a 23- carat diamond ring. George Battle made up 564 excuses not 'to buy it for her. The SGA counted exactly 12,025 run-off ballots during the first three weeks of school. Coach Miller told 6,910 jokes this year. Too bad they were all the same one. Harriet Hall got 4,830 extra points in Algebra. She had 100 average to begin with . . . 7,610 people tried to talk Greg Murphy into auditioning for Class Musician and he still didn't do it. Emily Hill counted 23,023 flutter flutters fbutterfliesj and it wasn't even spring. David Williams said a total of 3 words this year and these were all to Torri. Donna Monte counted 816,502 in the class treasury this year. Unfortunately, it was all counterfeit. Mrs. Mann broke 24 pencils during each class beating on the podium. The Flag Corps used 72,921 rolls of tape before each game. The basketball team recorded 820 reel to reel tapes for warming up. This could go on for 39.04 pages but I will end it here. Anyway, my 5th pen just ran out of ink. This certainly isn't all the statistics but it was all my 4.8 pens could write. Susan Murray Class Statistician Class of '77 Will We the Senior Class of 1977, having beautiful bodies, some soul, being all heart, and having a sound mind, do declare this document to be our last will and testament.
