DIGHTON Dighton High fell before the Narrv League pacesetters T3-lil in a surprising battle at Dighton. Moe Mahoney lcd the XYave with 213 points while Kocfwara. Y Clinching the title bv l3iinan's loss the night before the Champs capitalized on a second half comeback to whip Prevost 40-3l before a large crowd at Textile. Shaking off' a lackadaisical first half the Lownevs scored 28 points in the final two cantos. Danny Nlacc-do's 8 and Halloran's 8 along with rugged backcourt performances bv Captain Kun and Mac were kevnotes of the win, H. F.'s l4th. YOKE New Bedford Yoke couldn't compare with Coach Ed Lownevs Narrv Champs and took a 55-29 shellacking. The scoring parade was led bv Frank Mahoney with l5, Bob Halloran and Ku! Koczwara with l4. NICXV BEDFORD XVith hopes of an upset the l95l-l952 Narry League Clhatnps were sadlv disappointed, as height and general court savvv proved too much for the Parochials, as New Bedford conquered thetn 52-29. -lohn NfcKenna's back court plav was nevertheless outstanding. F.-XIRHAVEN After leading 33-32 at tlte end of 3 periods Fairhaven spirited to down our boys with Vern Comes at the controls, 50-38. H. F. fought hard throughout, as Koclwara with II points and sonie niftx floor work, McKenna with 8, and Macedo with I0 proved insufficient to upset the battling acrtiss-the-river club. NXRRY I.E.-XGUI-1 .-XLL ST.-XRS As part of a dedication progratn of Somerset's new gym, Holv Fatnilv showed itself' too much for the All Stars, 50-41. Mahonev and Macc-do each had l0 while Nfaceclo proved himself king off the boards. YOKE A determined Vocational Club turned in one of the major upsets of the vear bv clubbing the X'Vave 44-39 in the season finale. However Nfahonev. Koczwara and Hallo- ran bowed out of their schoolbov careers with that ever- present HF sprit in shining both offensively and defensive-lv although in a losing cause. HOLY lf.-XNfll.Y's final record was l7-fi and in the Narragansett league H-l. Hats ofl to the second tC2l11l who did a great job this year. Assistant Coach Hassev is preparing some more splendid prospects to move up next year. The second teani included Mike Norton, Denny Ryan. 'lack Cllentents.
