Organizations Commercial Club Plant's Commercial Club was formed three years ago. The club's purpose is f-ff T to promote student interest in the business vvorld. Themembers ot this club take such courses as bookkeeping, advanced typing, business math, business lavv, and shorthand. Being in the Commercial Club gives many students a chance to hold positions in local firms through the DCT program. Steve and Carl devote hours of practice in preparation for the big match. Organizations Chess Club The Chess Club, sponsored by Mr. John Brandenberger, is in its second year of existence. The team had a winning season. They are undefeated. One team Plant hoped to challenge was the University of South Florida's. They planned to go to the National Chess Match in Atlanta this spring. Boa rd This board is made up ot the officers elected by the girls in FHA. vvhich of course stands for Future Homemakers of America. This organizationis for students enrolled in a home economics course. lt is the duty of the board to keep the club a stimulus for the conscientious home economics student wishing to pursue extra-curricular activities in the field. Each monthly meeting consists ot an enrichment program and sometimes a speaker is featured. FHA. also participates in many benefit programs.
