to accommodate student interests. Organizations Library Club The Library Club vvas continually striving to improve library service . Membership was open to all interested students. Some ot the group's main activities concerned Plant's nevv library and audio-visual facilities, to be built in front of the school. These students held a cupcake and candy sale on Halloween Day, to earn funds tor the library. They held poster parties and made decorations' for the holidays. During National Library Week members encouraged students to use their library by posting signs throughout Plant. This club met under the aegis of Miss Vickie Giunta and Miss Terry Abalon. One of their main goals was to try to preserve the natural beauty of our community. After the Christmas holidays, the club set up a recycling center. The members of the club devoted much of their time to this project. Using a machine provided by the State Forestry Service, they turned used Christmas trees into valuable mulch for plants. These students, under the sponsorship of lvlr. Steve and Carl devote hours of practice in preparation for the big match. Organizations Chess Club The Chess Club, sponsored by Mr. John Brandenberger, is in its second year of existence. The team had a winning season. They are undefeated. One team Plant hoped to challenge was the University of South Florida's. They planned to go to the National Chess Match in Atlanta this spring.
