ROTC Cadets Offered Va ried Progra m Reserve Officers Training Corps is a program intended to give interested students a taste of military lite. Cadets choose to participate in the ritle team, drill team, or color guard. This year the rifle team competed against other area high schools and against the Hillsborough County Rifle Team. Twice this year the team went to Fort Benning to compete against approximately thirty-tive national teams. The color guard and drill team participated in many parades. The drill team faced competition at Fort Benning, Georgia, Gainesville and Melbourne, Florida, Fort Rutker, Alabama, and aginst many area teams on Field Night. Competition included various intricate drills and formations. This year's program was made up ot eighty-eight cadets and vvas directed by Sergeant Major Richard Knecht and nine senior officers.
