THE FULTONIAN S- S A E1 A 4. a ' 1940 Football Season On September 21, Fulton High gridmen opened their 1940 Football season with the Alumni as their opponents. After a hard battle Fulton High won by a score of l3 to 0. The outcome of this game gave a favorable indication for a successful season. The next game, on September 28, Fulton journeyed to Mohawk. Here a warm and sunny day greeted them, with 300 fans witnessing the game. Our boys displayed plenty of power and won by a score of 13 to O. Fulton scored in the first quarter with Cushman crossing the goal. Later on in the third quarter Karkut scored our other touchdown. On October 12, Fulton engaged Cortland in a scoreless tie. Before an una usually large crowd, Fulton completely outplayed Cortland, but couldn't cross their goal to' score. The High School lland and Kiwanis Drum and Bugle Corps added much to the competitive spirit. The usual large crowd was on hand at Recreation Park on October 19 to witness the Fulton-Qswego game.
