Tenseness prevailed at some of the Tuesday night meetings as students pressed for a more liberal dress code. Tempers sometimes boiled on the board, as well as in the audience, but poli- cies were established and principals did adherento Administrative policy. One decision which thor- oughly pleased the schools was the lift of the ban that had previously existed over the throwing of the discus. A man of many facetsv is an accurate description of Fountain Valley's Principal, Paul Berger. But this description alone would not convey all the activities in which he is involved. As personnel director, he saw that teachers and classified personnel worked ac cording to district policies. As chief budgeter for the school, he saw that needed funds were distributed to the places where they would do the most good. He maintained the campus with a firm but diplomatic hand and was an example to the students. His spirit and loyalty to Fountain Valley has yet to be equaled by any other administrator. dministrator Guides T e Way
