Lisa and Ronnie jitterbug at the prom . Wall-flowers. Don't step on your dress, Kay! Archie shakes his bootie. Prom Ni ht Here it was - the mysticg moment every senior looked forward to. Here was the illusory star-studded sky: here were the romantic cand- lelit tables: here was an enchanted evening that would last til morn. Innovation was the key to the decoration of the prom. When the candles that the juniors ordered did not come in, Mrs. Lairmore thought of using champagne glasses as candle holders. They filled the glasses with blue water, tied a silver glitter ribbon around the stems, and put a small white candle in each glass. Large and beautiful wrist corsages were most popular with the girls this year. Elegant and fashionable tuxedoes were the latest thing among the guys . The elegant STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN Cthis year's prom themej that Mr. Lairmore and his agri boys built, held up miraculously through- out the entire evening as everyone posed on it for pictures. This year's prom was indeed a time to be remembered. Second grade presented an exciting skit. Margaret represented the Senior class. The first grades' Mexican Hat Dance. On Friday night, May 5th, in the High School gymnasium, Foreman presented its first May Festival. Excitement filled the air as DeeAnn Wright was crowned Queen. Kindergarten through twelfth grade kept the entertainment going with folk- dances, singing, baton twirling, and even a banjo player. The Festival was part of a special fund- raising activity that began in late Febru- ary. The May Festival Queen, her eleven Duchesses, and seventeen other contest- ants helped raise EB3,102.11 for the Fore- man Doctor's Fund. Miss Wright col- lected the largest amount, S8'74.00. Parts of the Festival were filmed for television by Miss Ann Wheeler of KTAL T.V. , Channel 6. Special guests for the occasion were State Representative Bubba Wade: Super- intendent of Foreman Schools, Ray Wat- song and the Doctor's Fund Committte: Mr. Ulys Reid, Mr. N. T. Hefner, Mrs. Delores Pullen, Mr. Billy Bob Pyron, Judge Hoye Horn and Mayor of Foreman, Bob Mason. Speerheading this successful fund rais- ing event was Mrs. Duane Dickens.
