SOPHOMQRE CLASS In September, l94fi, a group of green freshmen steered dizzily through the halls of E. H. S. constantly gazing at their new schedules, wondering what would be next on this, one of the most important days in their life. Choosing Billy Wayne Ballard, Doyle Jameson, Gerald Goodnight and Danny McClotchey to lead them through their first year, these freshmen proved to be one of the best classes ever. Returning in 1947 as silly sophomores, this class, proved to be quite unusual by re-electing Billy Wayne Ballard and Doyle jameson as president and vice-president respectively. This also proved that these fellas are great favorites of their fellow classmen. For secretary of the class, the sopho- mores chose Virginia Lindsey and honored John Crawford by electing him as treasurer. x These officers led their class through thick and thin' but came through their sophomore year with flying colorsg winning places in various contests and campaigns and rank- ing at the top in some honor roll counts. The sophomore class was represented in the extra- curricular activities of E. H. S. A great number of sopho- mores were in the lVildcat band, boys and girls glee clubs, mixed chorus and other activities. One member of the cast of the Thespian play was a sophomore. lvildcats hailed from this class while the B team was made up largely of sophomores. Four of the B team cheer leaders were from this group. , This class has proved to be very outstanding and these silly sophomores are eagerly looking forward to next year when they'll tread the halls as jolly juniors.
