And her light was like unto a stone most precious, even clear as crystal REV'ELATIONS XXI: ll Miss Germaine lflleureux. a niemler of our faculty fatally injured by a truck on her way to school died April Z5 at Saint Marys Hospital, where for several weeks she had bravely fought a losing battle. A native of Lewiston, educated in its schools, she attended the University of Maine where she was graduated with the Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in French. The year after to Edward Little as a substitute in Frenchg the following year she was elected as a regular teacher in the French department. Miss I.'Heureux was extremely interested in her work and spent a part of two summer V work at Middlebury College. She was very much interested in the establishment of a course in Spanish in our high school, and had already made plans to travel through Spain this coming summer, and to study at Sorbonne University in Paris. Miss L'Heureux vias actively engaged in the social, literary and religious life of the community. She belonged to the Lewiston and Auburn College Clubg she was Secretary of Le Coniite France-Amerique, a member of the Foyer Musicale, and the founder of the Literary Department of this Club. She belonged to Saint Peter and Paul's School Alumnae Associa- tion. and was a member of Saint Peter and Paul's Church. Those of us who knew her best will always remember her as kind, conscientious, unassum- ing. and thoughtful of others. VVQ- shall miss her, and we extend to her immediate family and friends the sympathy of her graduation she came vacations doing graduate our school. PAGE EIGHT
