Formation of new clubs, resumption ot' discontinued senior activi- ties. revival ol' orientation periods. and organiza- tion ot' the junior and sophomore classes have been outstanding in the semesteris events. The senior class w as unusually active during the semester. Their class play was The Three tirac-es . a three act farce. presented April Zi and 28. under the direction ot Mr. Carl Custke. The l2A class also undertook the publica- tion ot' a semi-annual. the Arrow, and intro- duced a senior week. lfastern Alumni sponsored a dance at the Gray- stone Ballroom on February 8 for the benetit ot' various school activ ities. Approximately H00 people attended the dance despite the zero weather. The sophomore and junior classes were orga- nized this semester for the tirst time, under the sponsorship ot' Mrs. Cecelia Turrell. The classes sponsored n series ol' dances during the remester. A committee for junior activities consisted ot' Mary lillen Cook, Wilma McClintock, Freder- ic HI. Virginia l,ayI'ayett.e Anthony Cuci- ardo, and Arthur Funke. Members ot' the sophomore committee were William Martin. Itelnert Board, Cordon Wilson. .loan Paine. Jane Adams, and Iiileen llorman. Miss ltuth li. Bantield sponsored ICastern's President's Birthday dance, a part. ot' the nation-wide program celebrating President Itoosevelt's birthday. The music was furnished by Cib Itothchild and his orchestra and specialty numbers were given by Winifred Frye. Qga Murdoch and Hazel Daniels. Frances Hall. Zelda and Ben Adams. and Dorothy Arroll. The House of Roosevelt chose Theron Hicks president: Arthur Nickel. vice-president: George Sell. secretary: Paul Angott. treasurer: and Tony Guciardo. sergeant-at-arms. Barbara Bassett was chosen president of the House of Priscilla Alden. The Booster's Club, whose purpose is to back school activities, was organized this semester. lts membership is composed ot' two persons from each house who are interested in at.hletics. Robert Backoll' was elected presi- dent: Kathryn Kelley, secretary, and Arthur Kuhnle, treasurer. Mr. Edgar Smith acted as sponsor. Betty Howson, Virginia Andrus, Bonnie Brown, Eleanor Eckert., Arthur Qipgell, James Davis, Edward Van Hartsvelt, and Ann Blasco are other members of the club. The forming of a Model Boat Club also began a new activity. Donald E. Smith was made commodoreg Thomas Dossin, vice-commodoreg and Whitney Dunn, rear commodore. The club is sponsore .
