Front row: Jeannie York, Marion Howe, Sapp, back row: Miss Crane, Linda Wanda Tallman, Cyndy Nissen, Patty Terri Brown, Jane Passer, Ann Her- Freeman, Kathy Wright, Davada Whit- York, and Cheryl Hunter belong to nandez, Tina Meyers, Kim Zieve, Kathy aker, Miss Franklin, Jennifer Hunter, the Auditorium Club. Marion Howe, president, and Cheryl Hunter, vice-president, talked over the next event they will usher in the auditorium. When visitors came to East they were shown around by the Auditorium Club. The members ushered many school events. A road show to various hospitals added ioy to the Christmas holi- days. Joy was also spread by a make someone happy proiect. 203

202 RU Spanish Club officers are Linda Biggs, Susan Dominguez, Mrs. Paredes, Joelle Barnes, and Debbie Hellinga. They worked hard throughout Christmas. Thorne, Bottom row: Bill Scott, Karen Gober, Debbie Greenspan, DeEtte Smith, Linda Gibbs, Mrs. Paredes, Sandra Duran, Stephanie Martin, Dave Top row: Albert Cerino, Ann Thomson, Joelle Barnes, Rebecca Hinoios, Re- nee Chase, Sandra Clark, Martin Va- ollo, Sue Dominguez, Andy Rivas, Bob Linda Biggs, Spanish Club president, tells members of the new proiects that are planned for them. Families in the Valley were given toys, canned goods, and clothing by the Spanish Club at Christmas. Christmas carols sounded in the hall the day before vacation by the club. Lucero, Wanda Tallman, and Debbie Hellinga are members of the Club.

204 Bob Rink looks on as Dave Harrington, Collette Crus, and Mary Ferraro paint a campus trashcan the colors and sym- bol that represent ecology. Earth Day started many things including Ecology Clubs. ln its first year East's Ecology Club had guest speakers to in- form its members of what they can do about the pollution prob- lem. During the year the members pressed for Ecology bills by going to the State Capital to talk to the legislature. They presented programs to various interested groups. To earn money for their clean-up proiects they had various sales on campus Mary Ferraro and Collette Cruse sold cookies and ecology-directed bumper stick- and around 'heir neighborhoods' ers during their lunch. Strongly interested in the club she worked hard to form, Miss Forde assisted them in promoting sales to other students. Peggy Addington, secretary-treasurer, Interested students ioined the Ecology Club. Standing: Bob Rink, Joe Richards, and Alfredo Estrella, president, worked Ann Rink, Bill Siebrand, Alfred Estrella, Robert Taddei, Sitting: Mary Moore, hard for the Ecology Club. Peggy Addington, and Miss Vivian Forde, sponsor.
