This year our school paper, The Highlights has been superior. The mem- bers of the various staffs evidenced their skill and originality in all phases of the paper. All departments have co-operated to put out each issue and to make each paper an interesting and informative one. Mr. Hoover was advisor for the group and of great assistance to the staff members. Miss Boldt This year the Senior National Honor Society has been a credit to E.A.H.S., under the guidance of Miss Iva Boldt, and the leadership of Bob Palmer as president. The Society raised money for American Student Exchange, gave a Christ- mas party in honor of the alumni, in February additional seniors were inducted in an impressive ceremony, and in the late spring the qualifying juniors were admitted. onor ociefiezi The National Junior Honor Society this year had a very impressive ceremony on March lst. Sophomores and Fresh- men were inducted and a tea followed for members and their parents. The 1955 Mardi Gras earned a large sum of money for the foreign exchange program. The Student Council sponsored the Variety Show for the first time this year. The pro- ceeds, which exceeded 35250.00, are to be used to finance school assemblies. Also accomplished were the revising of the constitution and making the cafeteria stair- way one-way to relieve congestion during lunch periods. The officers were Busti Burke, president, Matt Makowski, vice-president, Judy Reeves, secretary-treasurer, and Bob Rose, Speaker of the House.
