' , . .41 Coach Donnelly TRACK Track events as we know them were initiated by the Greeks in the Olympic games. Their practice spread among the Germanic and Celtic peoples. Today, each high school is proud of its most time-consuming, idealistic sports squad, the track team. Under the able instruction of Mr. Donald Donnelly, our track team ran, iumped and hurled themselves through an exciting and rewarding season. The team was balanced between a large maiority of second and third year men. Expected to be strong in both running and the various field events, many coaches watched the Colts for league leadership. Their fine record throughout the season certain y shows their fine spartan tenacity and spirit. Coach Ash Hayes' squad lacked the necessary depth in various departments, but his overall squad has played fine baseball, spoiling the hopes of many aspirants to the Eastern League crown. The pitching staff, headed by Norman Marr and Gary Maloy, was, in a large way, responsible for the suc- cess. Enthusiastic support of our baseball team A - by the students caused excitement at many fine, skilled games. Coach Hayes Yay 6. -.11 3 , . , W l jf' . if 3 . gc f.., ,, - ag.- . A, X 5 N 't-LLM .
