We became acquainted with Fr. Lannon, the new Father Rector, new teachers and students. The following three days we devoted to the annual retreat, given this year by Fr. George McCabe, S.J. Shortly afterwards, the election of class ofhcers, conducted by Father Burke, returned to office William Hough, our Chief Executive. Assisting him in the office of vice-president was James Duplessie while Peter O'Brien and Peter Turco were appointed as treas- urer and secretary, respectively. Quickly found on the distinguished list for room study were our scholars William Hough, Francis Smith, Edward Montminy and Ralph Christiansen. Among our athletes on the gridiron were Peter Fisher, Peter Turco, James Ginty, Richard Salin- etti, Al Barbalunga, Tony Somers and Vincent Gentile, captain-elect for the l959 season. With the coming of winter, basketball and hockey occupied our attention. We were proud to contribute Bill Hough and Tony Smith to the Varsity hoopsters while Lee Duncan ioined the icemen. As fiercely contested as the varsity games were the Bobola- Xavier hockey matches each Sunday, Charlie Moulton collected his share of goals in these thrillers. Xavier was the victor 5-3 and was tied once 3-3 by the Bobola pucksters. Mr. Rahilly, S.J. guided our steps in English Literature and accompanied us into the Forum for Cicero's orations. Fr. Scully was always willing to lend a hand in the algebra. As we complete another successful year at Cranwell, we look for- ward tothe happy day when we will be SENIORS, at the top of the scholastic ladder. Jose Vasquez
