Tdapm .wcwq egmliia lpuul' by Davm Britton Individual photos by Larry McGrath The International Thespian So- ciety, Troop 1557, is one of the oldest Honorary organizations at Coronado. It has inducted over one thousand desewing members since its charter membership was established in 1965. Thespians is devoted to . . . excellence in Sec- ondary School Dramatic Arts. An invitation into its ranks is deter- mined by the amount and quality of work accomplished during an individuals high school theatre ca- reer. The society is not, by defini- tion a service organization but Thespians have always been ac- tive in community and school pro- jects. Scholarships and awards are presented by the annual Spring Formal Invitation and the lifetime friendships have always been based on trust, productivity, and most importantly, respect and love for the performing arts. Just knowing what it takes to be a Thespian, and earning enough points to be one is one thing, but being there is an experience. In the words of a now graduated Thespian l'It was the most fun l've ever had. Dedication is a major word in the Thespian Society. Meetings and productions un- doubtedly take a huge chunk out of time. Not to mention the annual Haunted House put on by the Thespians at Eldorado Park.
