Their main purpose was to become better acquainted with the field of forestry in order to understand their husbands ' work. Programs and activities were planned with this purpose in mind. Winter quarter they had classes and speakers on child development and better homemaking. Liz Sharp Carol Bell I Engineers ' Wives Even though the details of higher mathematics did not enter in, these wives of engineering students became more familiar with this profession and its phraseology in monthly meetings featuring guests speaking on the engineering field.
