First rowz Mary Moss, Quaestorg Mary Ann Moore. Consul: Nina Sui- Srrrepy, Aedile. 51 Spanish lub Under the sponsorship of Mrs. VVhite- house. Clayton has a very active Spanish Club. In reality there are two clubs, one for the first-year and one for the more advanced students. The purpose of the club is to further relations with the South and Central American countries, and to promote interest in the modern language. Clayton entered a federation with all city and county schools to cele- brate Pan American day April l-lth. The federation is working on the Constitu- tion this year. C. H. S. representatives to the federation are Pat VVolc0tt and Clarence Turley, also the presidents of the second and first year clubs respec- tively. Sally Brown serves as vice-presi- dent for the second-year club, with June Curran as secretary-treasurer. In the first year club, Bill Penny was vice- president, and Marge Deutman was sec- retary-treasurer. Latin lub Founded in the fall of 1932 under the sponsorship of lhliss lVIills and Miss Denny, the Latin Club has always been one of the biggest clubs at Clayton. This year the ofhcers are lIIary Ann lvloore and Chuck Zink, Consulsg Jane Griesc- dieck and Mary lI'Ioss, Quaestorsg Clara l.ouise Flucke, Nina Sue Streepey, and lCtldie Carter, Aediles. The annual Saturnalian Banquet was held December 20th in the C. H. S. cafeteria with the attendance topping IUU peopleg the food and program were on the order of a big Roman feast. The 25-cent-a-semester dues provide for the Latin Club to have an outdoor picnic in the spring. lVIen1bers of the club also celebrate lVIissouri Latin week.
