NETTERS HOST COLLEGIATE TOURNAMENT The 1978 edition of The Citadel Tennis Team was, in many respects, a carbon copy of last year ' s team — with a few exceptions. Centered around three returning senior lettermcn, the Netmen built a strong, well-balanced line-up. One new aspect was the return of a very familiar face in Citadel tennis — Col. Donald C. Bunch. Coach Bunch after a successful tennis career while a cadet at the Citadel, returned to take over as head of the Netmen in the early 1950 ' s. During the next twenty years as Head Coach the Bulldogs consistently had winning seasons. In 1976 Coach Bunch stepped down and Major Bennie Varn, another former Citadel tennis player, took over. When coach Varn was trans- ferred in 1977 Col. Bunch agreed to again take over as the head tennis coach. Welcome back!
