Cadet Ball Hundreds ot red, white, and blue streamers highlighted the American flag at the tortieth annual Cadet Ball, traditionally one ot the most anticipated events ot the CHS social season, Dur- ing the ball, Battle Group Commander, Colonel Bruce Wilcox was presented mth a saber and all otticers received their permanent commissions. Also during the ceremonies a miniature saber was presented to Cadet Queen, Kathy Reeve. lm- mediately following the presentations, Kathy and Bruce led a grand march to the music ot Vern Rice-'s orchestra. Preceding the dance, cadets en- tertained their dates at a banquet held in the Coach Room ot the l-litching Post Restaurant. Dinner at the Hitching Post before the dance. L-. Crowning of the Sweetheart Royalty, Judy Parsons, Sharon Kay Johnson, and Janet Johnson. Sweetheart Ball Over 250 couples enioyed the most colorful social event of the school season, the Sweetheart Ball. This year's theme, Let Me Call You Sweetheart, featured a large silhouette of a boy and girl outlined by a golden moon. Red and white streamers decorated the ceiling and walls of the dance floor, The Missilaires provided music for the dancing couples. This is the biggest moment of my life! .W 1 ' rx,..L. X +I ' KQTQSQSI. xi ,nb -,, Highlighting the evening's entertainment was the crowning of the Sweetheart Queen, Sharon Kay John- son by Bruce Wilcox, president of Key Club. Fred Malone handled the presentation ceremonies during which the queen and her attendants were crowned with flowered tiaras. Attendants Jan Johnson and Judy Parsons were escorted to the throne by Jim Watson and Joel Kalman. Presiding from her red and white satin covered throne, Sharon Kay typified the perfect sweetheart. Couples enioying the beautiful dance.
