In 1913, this group had become a full-Hedged club, known as the High School Boys' Club. The boys ITICK every Friday with clubs from other schools at the Y. M. C.A. for a bean supper, followed by an address on some vital subject. In 1913, we find first mention of the Hi-Y, a nation wide organization sponsored by the Young Men's Christian Association in cooperation with the school authorities. The local chapter has endeavored to live up to the three fold purpose: to create, main- tain, and extend throughout the school and the community high standards of Chris- tian characterg to be of service to the school, and to encourage High School boys to further their education. Central's Hi-Y meets every Tuesday at Bethlehem Presby- terian Church. All A Sophomore, Iunior, and Senior boys are eligible. Mr. Rodgers and Leif Larson have added much to the benefit that the boys and school derive from its instructive programs.
