It adopted the name of C.C.C., standing for Courtesy, Consideration, and Cleanliness. The entire student body was considered a part of this organization, but the active work was carried on by C.C.C. officials and a cabinet. Many needed services were rendered by it to the school. Such duties as maintaining quiet in the hall, protection of students' lock- ers, careful watch of the lunchroom, and the picking up of waste paper were early taken over by this new club. Today the work of the C.C.C. is maintained in much the same manner as it was in its early stages. Monitors are placed on duty in the corridors at the several stairs, and it is their responsibility to keep order in the halls. livery year a party is held for all those who are C.C.C. oflicials. The cabinet is the governing body of this organization. It consists of twelve representatives who meet every second Thursday in the trophy room with Mr. Krueger, faculty adviser. From the cabinet, student floor managers are selected, and it is their duty to supervise their floors and see to it that all monitors are at their respective posts. This spring, the C.C.C. put on a Courtesy campaign with the cooperation of the Student Council. .Xll students were asked to write down such acts of discourtesy as they had noticed about the building. The News ran a special column, in which questions on courtesy were answered. This campaign proved very successful. The C.C.C. is the kind of organization every High School needs, and we are indeed fortunate in having such an efhcient body police Central. STAGE FCRCE E have here at Central a little known but absolutely indispensable band of boys, who are commonly known as the stage crew. They work under the direction of Maylon Hepp, instructor of cabinet making. Five boys are members of the crew. It is these boys who are seen busily fixing the side curtains, regulating the foot lights of the stage, and adjusting the spotlights in those few moments of waiting before the curtain rises on any of the productions held in the school. Much of the success of the various operas, plays, and other programs put on during the year depend upon this band of faithful workers. Stage settings for the Iapanese opera, 'iThe Mikadof' were constructed by them, and lighting efliects were worked out. The class plays would not have been the great success they proved to be had it not been for the cooperation of the stage crew. Central may well be pleased to have such a capable group of workers to depend upon. STAGE l URC'E--Srtoxn Ron: Tiirllm, .-Imfwxorl, .Yo-xizk, Fffiolf.
