Through 10 years of competition, grapplers have compiled a 111-25 record. Highlighting the season was District Championship awarded to senior jim Di- anda 145 lbs., and junior Vince Pietrazak 112 lbs. Marty Mathias placed third. In All-City balloting, Vince Pietrazak, Alvar- ado from Woodward, and Zychowicz from St. Francis were all first team 112 lbs., while jim Dianda captured the 145 lbs. title. Honorable mention went to seniors Tom Ketzer 127 lbs., Marty Mathias 165 lbs., and Ray Sheahan 154 lbs. Coach Kregal is very optimistic about next year's team. He stated, We will be a young and aggressive team with good potential. But the wrestlers must give self- sacrifice if they want to be winners. This year's seniors will be missed, but they are leaving a good attitude, valuable to young wrestlers. Expected to carry the Central tradition next year are juniors jim Arquette and Vince Pietrazak, who were elected co- captains, and Tom Moline. Starting early, coach Powers primed the cindermen with third-floor workouts and scheduled indoor meets with Woodward and DeVilbiss. These spring meets revealed jim Gagnet and Ray Corrigan as 440 speedsters, and Mike Orange Miller as a versatile trackman, racing the 100 yard dash and the low hurdles. Mr. Powers also relied on Bart Bolbach's high hurdles, Paul Gardner's half mile, Mark Stubinski and jim Ferstle's distance prowess and john Niez- goda's shot for the team's points in the dual meets. GIRLS' TENNIS Under the direction of Miss Maureen Gallagher Track Team: Row 1: fohn Leopolai Doug Danyko, Dave Lipinski. Dennis Strong, Mark Collins, Mike Millen Pal Bailey, Daniel Kosakowski, Assl Coach Mr. Elsasser. Row 2: lllgr. Taking honors in tournament play-offs were jackie Polakovic, first runner-up singles, and Kathy Schmakel and Sandi Klosowski, first runners-up doubles. BOYS' TENNIS The 1966 boys' squad, under the supervision of Mr. Tim Dever, finished their season with a 4-3 record. Mr. Robert Gable, taking over the coaching re- sponsibilities of the 1967 Irish netters, foresees a great season for his racketeers.
