-I fr ff Xp xW , if .2 i Spring Honor Trip Spring brings the reward for win- ter's work well done, and those of us who emerge from our studies with a B+ average or better are invited to participate in the Honor Trip. Last year, a sizeable group boarded buses to the U. S. Steel Corporation, Fairless Steel Works, Morrisville, Pennsylvania. We saw the dazzling brightness of molten steel, the open hearth furnaces, the coke ovens, the blast furnaces, the sheet and tin mill, the rolling mills, and the bar mill. As we left the steel works, pic- tured below, we toured the Fairless Hills and Levittown developments and headed toward Radio City and Knights of the Round Table.

RM Wotmba fiymg high Charles Anthony, the Morris County and Conference high jump champion, tied the Lakeland record at 5'9 , and broke Butler's record at 5'10 . Jim Sehulster set a new school record by running 880 yards in 2:07.6. About all you can tell from this is that there was quite a crowd at the Honor Trip to Fairless. Honor Society mem- bers at annual dinner 0,761 Standing: Miss Hawkins, adviser, Jack Cormack, Sandy Walker, Jeanne Sloat, Roger Navratil, and Rose Urfer. Sitting: Irene Jordan, Marlee Fredricks, Dave Lewis, Joe DeDe, and Pat McCormick. viii.. Not only scholarship, but the qualities of leadership, character, and service must be possessed by the seniors and juniors who are selected to the Butler Chapter of the Na- tional Honor Society. The guiding ideals of the organization are to stimulate scholarship and service.
