Acknowledgements As the final layouts are being prepared and final copy is being written, I look back to the time when this book was just an idea on paper. Since then it has progressed to become a book of memories and good times for each student, faculty member, and staff member here at Butler County Community Junior College. My year as editor has been a series of memorable frustrations and accomplishments. Publications such as yearbooks are a battle against time with strict schedules to meet. It is a challenge that keeps one driving because he has everything to gain. Although it is impossible to mention all who have contributed to the production o this yearbook, I would like to express my sincere thanks and apprecia- tion to the following: The Coca-Cola Bottling Com- pany for its permission to use its song title for our theme; Mr. Frank Wright, yearbook representative for getting us started; Miss Blenda Kuhlmann, our adviser, for her time and patience; the 1972 GRIZZ- LY PRODUCTION STAFF: Cliff Harder, who doubled as page editor and photographer, Rita Feh- renbach, and Michelle Hepler. Special staff members were Marge LaForest, our typist, and David Voth who volunteered his help. No yearbook would be complete without pictures, and our thanks go to Mr. Bill Bidwell and his photographers: Tony Harris, Buford Pringle, Nolan Faidley, and Mike Scully, to mention a few, who have kept us supplied with pictures. Co- operation from clubs and sponsors here on campus has also helped us. But my most sincere thanks go to all o{ ' YOU the individuals here at BCCJC who had to endure having your pictures taken, even retaken, so that we could give you something to cherish. Special Students A large number of students enroll in day classes on the campus as special students. Many of these stu- dents are called high school specials, who are per- mitted to supplement their high school study sched- ules with any college course of their choice — whether a general education course, a vocational course, or a community interest course — without payment of the full campus privilege fees. Although these students are not included in the yearbook, recognition of their ac- celerated educational achievements is certainly due them. Other students - some who already have college degrees, and some who are employed full time but choose to enroll in certain courses either for personal enrichment or for a long range goal ■- mingle with the day students and are included with them in all campus privileges. Among those on campus this year are the students featured below. No doubt others should be included in this group. All of them rightfully deserve consideration of their academic interest. Esther Cummins Martha Dambach David Foreman Paul Haines Peggy Lackey Zeila Roberts Charles Romero Roberta Ruegnitz A rainy day doesn ' t dampen the beauty of the campus. Personalities 121
