Their advisor, Mrs. Garcy, has led this fine group of girls on their trips to Ohio Valley Hospital in Mcliees Rocks, and also to Washington Hospital, Washington. The officers elected this year are as follows: President. Paula Tucci: Vice-President, Linda George: Secretary-Treasurer. Nancy Sue Blaine. The Nurses Club, also for the first time since it began, has obtained a National Charter. With this kind of background in high school they are sure to succeed as nurses. tudent Council As governing body of the students at Union High School, the student council has had another effective year. Under the direction of Mr. Bohn, this governing body has brought the crowded conditions in the halls under control by capable hall patrol members. Members of the Student Council strive to gain the co-operation of the students in regard to the problems that arise in the school. In the future, this governing body will be. one or more responsibility, and power because of new rules and regulations in the new charter which has been drawn up. BOTTOM ROW: Left to Right, C. Business Staff of the if '9 The business staff ofthe yearbook secures the funds used to finance the annual. This work is carried on by the regular members of the retailing class. The members of the retailing class solicits advertisements from merchants and sells annuals to schoolmates to raise money. The money received from this work pays for the entire cost of the publication. As this work requires salesmanship, the students are gaining two advantages from these activities: 113, experience in selling. 423, responsibility in handling finances. BOTTOM ROW: Left to Right, B. Clair, Mr. Reich. enior Chorus This year our musical groups under the expert direction of Mr. Reich have had another outstanding year. These talented girls have worked hard to bring to us the annual Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter programs that we have enjoyed this year. They also performed for the following: Parent- Teachers night, the Honor Society, the P,T,A., Baccalaureate and Commencement exercises. The COUNTY CHORUS ME MBERS season ended with a wonderful Spring Concert. Chorus members are chosen each year to blend their voices with those of other students from various schools at the Junior, County, District, and State Choral Festivals.
