The group has presented a radio program over WKAN and given an assembly before the student body. Highlights of the year are the spring style show and F.H.A. week. The local chapter has been especially honored this year in having the chapter mother, Mrs. Henry Conn, become chapter mother of Section 18, and in having Donna Means, chapter president, become president of Section 18. Other officers are Judy Conn, vice presidentg Carol Owen, secretaryg Connie Chaplinski, treasurerg Janice Gulczynski, recreationg Tekla Andrews, public relationsg Sharon Stevens, welfareg Deanna Reiniche, historiang Janet Petko, degreesg and Pat Tintari, parliamentarian. Miss Beach is an honorary member. The organization is sponsored by Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Paulson. .J 7I

Mary Nicholson, Mary Van- 71 Future Homemakers of America is a service organization associated with home economics. Formed November 5, 1948, the local chapter is affiliated with a national organization which has chapters in all the states, Alaska, Guam. Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. The purposes of the organization are flj to promote a growing apprecia- tion of the joys and satisfactions of homemakingg QZJ to emphasize the im- portance of worthy home membership, QQ to encourage democracy in home and community life for all, MJ to work for good home and family life for all, OJ to promote international good will, QGJ to foster the development of creative leadership in home and community lifeg GJ to provide wholesome individual and group recreation, and Q8J to further interest in home economics. F.H.A. has sent CARE packages to the needy in other countries. This year they adopted a nine-year-old boy at the Fortin Villa orphanage, and they have given a party for him and presented him with clothes and gifts. They sent Deanna Reiniche to the state F.H.A. camp during the past summer. Denlnlout, Jackie Hertz. Bonnie Hengl. Thirty girls, selected for the work they had done in F.H.A., went to Chicago November 25. They toured the Continental Bank, where they were guests of the Bank for dinner, and then they went shopping at Marshall Fields.
