They traveled to Pontiac for the opening game of the 1956 season and battled the Indians to a 0-0 tie in this non-conference tilt. In their first con- ference game the BRADLEYANS invaded St. Anne, but they were repulsed by the Cardinals 18-15 in the surprise upset of the schedule. At Morris the BOILERMAKERS won a non-conference game 6-0, and a Homecoming crowd saw them romp over Gilman 19-6. Next the BRADLEYANS defeated St. Patrick Central, the other leading conference contender, by a score of 19-0. Next the team visited Crete to win 15-0, and the following week they journeyed to Momence to win 13-7 late in the fourth quarter. They won 13-0 over Central in the final conference game. In the last game of the season against non-conference Wilmington the BOILERMAKERS came through again, with a score of 20-19.
