In this way they learn to be democratic and to take their place in our present day society. The band also provides entertainment for the public and acts as a public relations agent for our school. Band captain is Darel Grothaus, Bill Maier is drum sergeant, and Linda Stoltz is majorette.

Marcia johnsong Director-Mr. Baker. The BRADLEY-BOURBONNAIS COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL BAND under the direction of Mr. Baker plays at all home athletic contests. This year they also participated in the Corn Festival at Morris and the Northwestern Uni- versity Band Festival, and they played when Vice President and Mrs. Richard Nixon visited Kankakee. They also took part in several parades. As a concert group they gavefa spring concert and play at baccalaureate and commencement. The band provides an outlet for those interested in instrumental music, stimulates a well-rounded music program in the school curriculum. Causes students to be aware of some of the more valuable lifetime experiences, and enables them to learn to enjoy all types of music. It provides instruction for the students interested in music as a vocation or avocation. It gives individuals and small groups experience in solo and ensemble playing.
