Talented Voices in Girls Chorus Roberta, Gina, Eve, Diane and Corina represent leadership. More so than in previous years, this years Girls Chorus has really displayed some unmistakeable tal- ent in organization, singing together and all around effort. Fr. Fred Link, newly appointed director of Chorus this year, had a lot to do with the improvement. Enthusiasm plays a major role in the choir ' s attitude, and that ' s one thing Fr. Fred has plenty of. This year ' s officers, too, definately had a hand in the group ' s success. Lend an Ear and Lancers Lilt Lyrics 1976 has been a very eventful year for the Bishop Luers Lancers. The choir consists of eighty-six singers directed by Fr. Fred Link. This year the Lancers partici- pated in the CLHS Second Annual Invitational Choral Festival, and, after receiving superior ratings in the NISBOVA contest, they advanced to State Competition at Butler University. These musically inclined in- dividuals also helped with the entertainment in the Spring Christmas concerts at Luers and the Joint Concert at Dwenger on May 12. Geralyn receives the Caecilian Award. Many Memories for ' 76 Minstrels Many long hours of learning, prac- ticing and sweating added up to a fantastic year for the Bishop Luers Minstrels. Twenty-two singers, nine instrumentalists and three managers made up the swing choir directed by Fr. Fred Link. Jordan Hamm Bower again choreographed the Minstrel sounds. The Minstrels performed for a num- ber of private gatherings including shows for Lincoln Life, St. Joseph Hospital and Republican dinners where many important officials were on hand. The highlights of the year were a bicentennial tour of Boston where the Minstrels sang in the famous Old North Church; the Second In- vitational Swing Choir Contest February 28; and finally an invitation to sing for the arrival of President of the U.S. Gerald Ford at the Coli- seum. Total it all up and you can see why the Minstrels have a lot of memories to hang on to.
