Luers Band Is Top Notch! The end of school marks the begin- ning of many activities for the Marching Knights. One of which is band camp at the end of July. Several hours of practice each week is necessary to make a good showing at the Indiana State Fair in August. A lot of people don ' t realize that band is full time. Thanks for your dedication! If Practice Makes Perfect The 1975-76 Marching Knights have indeed had a great year. They actively participated in such events as the State Fair, parades, concerts, football and basketball game halftimes shows, and com- petitions. This energetic group closed their busy year with an invitational march at the Indy 500. Officers played a major role in the band ' s success this year. Ellen Phillips was President and Solo Twirler; Chris Kress — Student Director; Section Leaders were Mary Ann Girardot, Anita Arnold, Sue Greeley, Tony Hettinger, Mike Davis, Theresa Beckman, Tim Ward, Jeff Steinacker and Lisa Toll. The competent director was Mr. Bob Slattery. Members Ellen receives the John Sousa Award. Lend an Ear and Lancers Lilt Lyrics 1976 has been a very eventful year for the Bishop Luers Lancers. The choir consists of eighty-six singers directed by Fr. Fred Link. This year the Lancers partici- pated in the CLHS Second Annual Invitational Choral Festival, and, after receiving superior ratings in the NISBOVA contest, they advanced to State Competition at Butler University. These musically inclined in- dividuals also helped with the entertainment in the Spring Christmas concerts at Luers and the Joint Concert at Dwenger on May 12. Geralyn receives the Caecilian Award.
