Coach Clark Tam In Schoofs Best Coaching Record After a total of thirty years in the matroom, six of them as an athlete, seven years as assistant to Whitey Koontz, and the past seventeen years as the highly successful head coach of the Bison matmen, Coach Ed Clark is turning in his record books with an impressive 150 wins against 24 losses and 1 tie, for a phenomenal 8696 win record, a feat which makes him, to date, the winningest coach in the history of Bedford High School athletics. Highlights in Coach Clark's career include one State cham- pion, Ron Hamilton, in 1964, three Regional champions in one year, two state runnersup in one year, Roger Simons, the only wrestler to ever win four Boiling Springs Championships, nine Regional champions and nine runnersup, sixteen Boiling Springs champions, eleven District V titles, five Intercounty Conference titles, five undefeated seasons, and this year in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the sport of wrestling, he was selected and honored as the 1974 Class A COACH OF THE YEAR by the P.I.A.A. Wrestling Coaches Association. Instrumental to his success has been the fine relationship which Coach Clark has maintained throughout the years with his athletes. In such an atmosphere of mutual respect and mutual interest, it has been extremely rewarding for him to train his boys. For Eddie Clark, elected by his teammates as Captain of Bed- ford's first undefeated wrestling team and voted by his classmates Most Versatile Boy Studentv of the Class of 1944, this record of his, honors their confidence.
