Hart ennep I' ans- f Y' The Mothers Auxiliary's largest fund-raising event of the year occurred on Saturday, May 6, 1978, at the Winnipeg Inn. Its tremendous success was largely due to the organizational ability ofthe dance committee, chaired by Mrs. J. D. Shanski. The following mothers Worked with Mrs. Shanski, and all should be thanked and congratulated: Mrs. T. W. Sidebottom, Mrs. A. E. Rattray, Mrs. D. O. Wood, Mrs. A. E. Choptain, Mrs. J. A. Marsh, Mrs. B. D. Roberts, Mrs. J. E. Matthews, Mrs. J. R. Messenger, Mrs. J. E. Hinchliffe, Mrs. C.N.B. Mason, Mrs. H. Fogel, Mrs. W. S. Ritchie, Mrs. J. N. Gillies, Mrs. H. S. Provis, Mrs. I. L. Jessiman, and the Advisor, Mrs. N. T. Russell. As well as the dance itself, an important fund-raiser that took place the same evening was the Silent Auc- tion. The profits far exceeded those of the previous Auctions, largely because ofthe wide scope of assort- ed objects - everything from paintings to rent-a-Cadil- lac, from rib-eye steaks to rent-a-Spanish Villa. The pieces put up for bid were assiduously collected by a committee chaired by Mr. G. de Jardin, including Mr. E. Coughlin, Mr. P. McDonald, Mr. J. Shanski, Mr. J. E. I-Iinchliffe and Mr. R. E. Rivalin.
