CHOIR Our choir this year consists of a group of thirty-nine mixed voices taken from grades 9, IO, Il, IZ. They received forty choir robes last fall, thirty-nine for the members of the choir and one for the pianist. During the year the choir has taken part in programs such as P. T. A., Christmas program, Assembly, Baccalaureate Services and Farm- er's Institute. They also took part in the High School Operetta held in March. 1 It has been a very successful year of song very ably conducted by Miss Bowdle and oc- companied by the Pianist Jean Wykoff. i X l A ' URCHESTRFI The orchestra is made up of twenty-one people from the sixth grade through the twelfth. It meets three days a week for rehearsal, although this year they did not meet the same period every practice, but met on a system of rotation of periods. The teachers and pupils cooperated very well on this set-up. There are many in the Orchestra who have played since they were in the sixth grade. lt is this group that has kept the Orchestra going. The Seniors who have played this long are Alton Emerine, Charles Wykoff, Mary Nickelson, Alan Kieffer, and Ilene Metzger. We hope the ones now in Orchestra will continue and that there will be new members. They have participated in Assembly, P. T. A., Farmers' Institute, Junior Class Play, Senior Class Play and Commencement. Like a bird giving its song to the wind, the ensemble sang One Alone. For happiness and ioy, they brought you the ltalian Street Song For a story told in song, listen to Three Little Maids. A tale of a girl's co- quetry is My Johann. The ensemble ap- peared at Farmer's Institute, P.T.A. programs, and in Assembly. Our pianist is Jean Wykoff, our director, Miss Bowdle. This year a boy's ensemble, composed of boys from the senior choir, was organized. Their aim was to improve their ability in sight reading and harmonizing. They enjoyed sing- ing together spirituals, hymns and other secu- lar songs in four part harmony throughout the year. They appeared on several programs and in the operetta.
