After a fme summer wacatton we returned to the Pme School where Mr McGee our prmcrpal gave another of hrs enlnghtenmg talks before asslgnment to our classes Our offrcers for the year were Presrdent Paul Pesta Vrce Presrdent Thomas Babjak and Secretary Treasurer James Ashe Wrth Coach Charles jarvrs were three of our best boys on the football squad james Ashe Thomas Babyak and Angelo Quadarella As the end of the year drew near the annual umor Senior Receptlon was held wrth us as the hosts and the Semors as the guests On Class Day a day looked forward to by everyone Donald Maloney and Fred Korzan recerved crtrzenshrp and scholarshrp awards Korzan also represented our school at Nutmeg Boys State at Storrs Connectrcut After returnmg our books and brddmg farewell we left for our summer vacatron Our vacatron drew to a close and we agarn found ourselves rn the halls of the school we had learned to love Class officers for thns our final year were Frederrck E Korzan Presrdent Paul Pesta Vrce Presxdent and Thomas Babyak Secretary Treasurer We were represented on the Student Councrl by Fred Korzan Thomas Babjalc Paul Pesta Anthony Calxnl Angelo uadarella At the Publrc Speakrng Contest Grady and Korzan t1ed for frrst place and were chosen to represent our school tn the Publrc speakmg assembly at the Htgh School Audxtortum on March 15 Thus year at the annual unror Senror Receptron we were the guests rnstead of the hosts The prom clrmax of all our soc1al actrvttes found everyone eager to attend Th1s was for some of us the flrst formal affarr Class Day remrnded us that our school days were raprdly drawmg to a close At last came the day we were all wartrng for long to be remembered as the happrest event rn our ltves graduatron 45 . CLASS HISTORY 1951 On the night of june 20 1951 we a class of thirty two Seniors will receiwe our diplomas for successfully completing our m nu l arts course at the Pine Manual Trarning School It all started in the year l947 when as freshmen we gathered in the mechanical drawing room to be assigned to our respective classes It was there is a fine school and Pine Boys are fine boys Class electrons were held and the boys chosen as our class officers were Richard Gilbert President Anthony Calmi Vice President Edward Grady Secretary Treasurer Grady also represented our class on the Visual Aids Committee At last Class Day came after a year of hard and strenuous work Thomas Ajello Anthony Calini and Edward Grady received Citizenship awards In a few days we were all enyoying our summer vacation September rolled around all too soon and we again found ourselves rn the Mechanical Drawing Room to be assigned to our classes Our class was well represented on the football squad by Babyak Ashe and Bailey The class officers elected for our sophomore year were Anthony Calini President' Angelo Quadarella Vice-President' Paul Pesta Secretary-Treasurer. lt was soon time to elect the shop in which we were to major for our next two years. This was a hard choice to make because of the fine and interesting shops offered to us. We were well represented in the Public Speaking contest by Edward Grady. The year flew by and it was again Class Day. Anthony Calini and Kenneth Burt received Citizenship and Scholarship awards. A few days later school was closed for the annual summer vacation to which we all looked forward. 44 PINE MANUAL TRAINING SCHOOL for the first, but not the last time, we heard the expression, The Pine School
