Kim Hydrick, Pam Plummer, Kathy Hawkins. Tami Plyler, Ricky Johnson. This year seven resident advisors assumed more responsibility. They handled all room in- spections and room condition forms. They were responsible for one program each semester, such as: assertiveness training, CPR, student de- pression, and guitar lessons. These were new additions to A.C. student life. The resident advisors assisted with discipline and supervised the resident assistants on duty. They were in charge on weekends and at night in case of an emergency. The resident advisors were Susan Co leman, Pratt; Dawn McKenzie, Denmark; Joy and Ed Bettem, Lawton; Terry Tritt, Rouse; Virginia Scott, Infirmary; and Grace Melton, evening ad- visor. Tammy Plyler, resident assistant for Pratt II, the largest hall, said her job description falls somewhere between the toilet paper and the late- night fire drills. RA ' s 121

Directors Of Residential Living Mrs. Carol Willis served as the Direc- tor of the Residential Living. Her job was to budget the housing, deal with major policy changes, and deal with room de- posits and off-campus housing. Mr. Hugh Weeks served as the Assis- tant Director of Residential Living. He was in charge of all day to day oper- ations of the resident halls. He was the supervisor for the resident advisors and resident assistants. He worked with Mrs. Willis on room assignments, budget preparation, and roommate problems. Mrs. Carol Willis poses for the camera. Under him were three fore- men: John Hodges, custodian; Johnny Fleming, building and grounds; and Den- nis Mckee, mechanical trade. These men were responsible for the reguisitioning for purchases and materi- als related to property maintenance. This department was also responsible for the grounds upkeep, auto servicing, and other administrative officials. Mr. Padgett was the supervisor of en- gineering, janitorial, college farming, and building maintenance. He was aided by student helpers Deanna Martin and Cindy Simmons.
