Financial Aid Office Gives Aid u The Financial aid Director, Mr. Jim Owens, oversaw the handling of all the financial aid applications. His staff counselled students if any prob- lems arose and helped them to find jobs either on or off campus as part of college work study programs. They also kept up a bulletin board with jobs that A.C. students could fill. Working under Mr. Jim Owens was June Cantrell as assistant direc- tor until January 1, when Mrs. Lynda Sayers took over. Mrs. Marilyn Walk- er filled in for Mrs. Sayer as job coor- dinator. Mrs. Ola Gray worked as re- ceptionist for the office. Student workers were Cindy Smith and San- dra Powell. Mr Jim Owens gives a comment for the wise. What a busy job Mrs Lynda Sayers had. A serious look from Mrs Ola Gray A cheerful smile from Mrs. Jane Cantrell. Financial Aid 119

Student Development Student Development encompassed many vital aspects of the college stu- dent ' s life. These aspects ranged from student government to intramurals, from student activities to security. The man responsible for the social develop- ment of the students was Dean Richard Franklin, vice-president for student de- velopment. The goal he aimed for was a well-rounded college student. Student housing rested in the capable hands of Carol Willis, assistant for stu- dent development. She made sure that students were satisfied with their room- ing situations and the best possible changes when changes were necessary. She worked long and hard to meet the students ' needs. Secretary for the Student Develop- ment Office, Mrs. Eunice Thorne, kept the office work running smoothly be- hind the scenes. Mrs. Eunice Thorn is caught counting her pen nies. The smile on Mrs Carol Willis ' face shows how fun student development can be. 118 Student Development
