Director, Mr. Eugene Kamholz z uC The Alexandria High School band, under the baton of Mr. Eugene Kamholz added much to the communities musical highlights of the year. Three main performances were given by the concert band. They were the annual Fall Concert, The Kiw anis Benefit Concert, and the Spring Clinic-Concert. The concerts con- sisted of varied programs to please both the classical and modem music fans. This years clinic-concert was held April 6 and 7 with Dr. Glen Bainum of Northwestern University appearing as our guest conductor. In 1955 the Alexandria band became Minnesota's First Governor's Band and took part in the Minnesota State Fair. Many thanks and much credit goes to Mr. Al J. Hapke who prepares in- dividuals and ensembles of the wood- wind section for concerts. Librarians: Sue Hollingsworth and Pauline Alberg. Officers: M. Collins, Secretary-treasurer, J. Olson, Vice-president, R. Stemsrud, President. 31
